How to get there

Tinajo is located in the western part of the island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands archipelago. It is a municipality with easy access from Arrecife, the capital of the island, as well as from other nearby towns. There are various options to get there, depending on the means of transport chosen.

Access routes by car


If you are travelling in your own vehicle or a rental vehicle, you can get to Tinajo via the following main roads:

• From Arrecife:

• Take the LZ-20 road towards San Bartolomé.

• Continue along the same road until you reach Tinajo (approximate journey time of 20-25 minutes).

• From Playa Blanca (South Zone):

• Take the LZ-2 road towards Yaiza.

• From Yaiza, continue on the LZ-67 towards Mancha Blanca and Tinajo (approximately 35-40 minutes).

• From Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen:

• From Costa Teguise, follow the LZ-1 road towards Tahiche and then the LZ-20 to Tinajo.

• From Puerto del Carmen, take the LZ-30 road to Masdache and then take the LZ-20 to Tinajo.

Public Transport (Guagua - Bus)


If you prefer public transport, there are several guagua (bus) lines that connect Tinajo with other points on the island:

• Line 16: Arrecife - Tinajo - Mancha Blanca (most direct route from the capital).

• Line 52: Playa Blanca - Tinajo - La Santa, connecting the southern area with Tinajo.

• Line 53: Puerto del Carmen - Tinajo - La Santa, useful for tourists staying on the coast.

• Taxi: There are taxi services available throughout the island with set rates to Tinajo.
