Ria de La Santa Beach

The Santa estuary is located just two kilometres from the fishing village of La Santa.

The estuary was an arm of the sea that crossed the island of Lanzarote and a small islet located in the north-east of Lanzarote.

With the construction of the Hotel La Santa Sport, this small islet was connected to the island of Lanzarote by means of bridges, so the channels for the entry and exit of sea water were closed, thus forming a small lagoon that today is enjoyed by lovers of swimming, windsurfing and water sports in calm waters..

Hermitage of Our Lady of Regla

The hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Regla in La Vegueta (Yuco) was built by popular subscription towards the end of the 17th century. Inside it is possible to find interesting paintings and a 17th century altarpiece dedicated to the Virgin. Apparently the small, dark-skinned image of Regla was brought by an emigrant who, upon returning from Cuba, said he had bought it from some Franciscans as a token of gratitude for the fortune he had made in Cuba.

Guiguan Viewpoint

The fact that agriculture exists in Tinajo and Lanzarote is due fundamentally to the ingenuity, willpower and perseverance of the farmers themselves who for centuries have been forced to work the land without faltering and to overcome the continuous tests to which nature has subjected them; not only in the meteorological order (scarce rain and strong sunlight) but also to skillfully overcome the conditions of the environment.

Hermitage of Los Dolores

The origins of the hermitage of Los Dolores and the devotion to its image are strictly linked to the volcanic phenomena that occurred between 1730 and 1736, as it was built by the collective promise to the Virgin of the inhabitants of Tinajo. Little is known about the primitive construction, as the documents referring to the themes of the Virgin were burned in a fire at the beginning of the 20th century in the archives of the main church of Teguise.
